| Storm Shield Garage Door Seal - Leading the Way on Thresholds |
|
Storm Shield is one of the most popular brands of garage door seals in the market today. Manufactured by Ohio based Action Industries, the Storm Shield garage door seal, creates a very tight grip between the concrete floor of your garage and the bottom of your garage door. The gaps between the garage door bottom and the uneven concrete floor are tightly covered and sealed. The tight grip it creates practically blocks lashing rain or snow. It also effectively bars sand, leave, dirt, insects, and rodents. It practically keeps the interior air in regulating your garage temperature thus reducing your energy bills. This makes it the ideal choice for garage door seals for hurricane ravaged places.
Made from sturdy rubber, the Storm Shield garage door seal is resistant to oil, gas, anti freeze solutions, or other chemical substances that are normal accidentally spilt on garage floors. It won’t shatter or crack and will remain flexible even in extreme temperatures of -40 Fahrenheit up to 150 Fahrenheit. The Storm Shield garage door seal is designed for easy installation. First, you have to make sure you have removed any existing weather strip from the garage door bottom. Open the garage door and center the Storm Shield threshold on the garage door track. Measure and trim if necessary. Then lower the garage door on top of the Storm Shield door seal’s 2” flap then push the 45 degree hump of the threshold against the back of garage door bottom for the right fit. Make sure the threshold hump is the one in your garage door. If necessary, you can notch the threshold around the door jambs for a tighter fit. Now, trace the inside with a pencil then raise the door and this time trace the outside with a pencil. Remove the threshold and apply the adhesive between the pencil lines in three rows – two horizontal rows along the inside of the pencil lines and a zigzagging third row between the two rows. Lower the threshold slowly between the pencil lines. Gently and carefully apply slight pressure on the threshold by uniformly spread the adhesive.
